Book 2’s Episode 7 ‘Beginnings – Part 1’ to Premiere Early at New York Comic Con 2013

On Saturday, October 12, The Legend of Korra will have its own panel at the New York Comic Con 2013. The panel will go from 11:00 am – 12:00pm and will feature the show’s creators, producers and voice actors/actresses. Those featured will reveal never-before-seen art, show special sneak peeks and answer fan questions. New York Comic Con 2013 is similar to San Diego Comic Con 2013 in that we’re told to expect art work and sneak peeks, but there’s one more major similarity that Nickelodeon has also announced about the event.

Just as SDCC 2013 aired an episode of Book 2 early, NYCC 2013 will also air an episode of Book 2 early. According to Nickelodeon, Book 2’s 7th episode (Beginnings – Part 1) will be shown at NYCC 2013 six days before it officially premieres on television. In case memory has deceived you, this is the episode that features the flashback of Wan – the first Avatar.

Here’s the official description of the panel released by Nickelodeon:

Nickelodeon gives New York Comic Con attendees insight into the hit animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which returns with season two Oct. 12 at 11:00a.m. (ET/PT), and The Legend of Korra, premieres Fridays at 7:00p.m. (ET/PT). During each hour-long presentation, voice cast and executive producers will reveal never-before-seen art, show special sneak peeks and answer fan questions. A brand-new episode from The Legend of Korra will also be screened during its panel.

Upon entering the convention center, fans will witness a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles display of action figures from their inception in the 80′s to present day. The action figures will be contained in glowing mutagen canisters and assigned a unique hashtag, giving fans an opportunity to participate in a social sweepstakes. Turtle enthusiasts who use the hashtags will automatically be entered for a chance to win the action figure displayed.

Maybe someone will record and leak the ‘Beginnings – Part 1’ episode 6 days early? But then again it may not even be worth watching since we’ll get to see the episode in HD within the week.

Are you going to the NYCC 2013?

That’s kinda strange. They’re not really obligated to give us a treat now that Book 2 aired. Beginnings P1 is an especially interesting episode that could attract a lot of attention. Why would they show it to a large group of people who probably won’t tune in to watch it again on Friday?

    • Kailee

Yea I didnt really think about that. In my opinion I don’t like that they’re showing episode 7 at comic con cuz most of the time it gets leaked. And when it gets leaked I can’t help but watch it….. but at the same time I wanna wait til it premieres live.

Do you know how many times I re-watch episodes? When the first episode in Book 1 was leaked, I watched the leak than watched it again on TV. Probably because it was a two episode premiere :/

    • Kristina

People will probably still re-watch it because at Comic-Con they’re only showing the first part. So people will just tune in anyway to see the 2nd.

I wish I could go. I live entirely south of the country from New York. My cousin lives in New Jersey but they never heard of Avatar. I don’t have time to travel there because of school. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
