Legend of Korra Book 2: Episode 10 ‘A New Spiritual Age’ Clip

Nickelodeon has released a clip of next week’s episode that depicts a worried Tenzin shuddering at the thought of Jinora venturing out into the dangers of the Spirit World. The clip did justice in following up with the subplot involving Tenzin and his siblings, something that has been absent from the show for quite some time. With the Varrick-related subplot likely to continue during next week’s episode, it’s possible that ‘A New Spiritual Age’ will continue to explore the relationship between Tenzin and his siblings while also showing Korra and Jinora’s Spirit World journey.

In the clip, Kya attempts to comfort Tenzin by assuring him that Jinora is an intelligent girl who has a strong connection with the Spirits. What bothers Tenzin, however, is the fact that Jinora will be without her bending and thus defenseless. Bumi takes some offense to this but Kya comes in to iron out any hard feelings.

The clip ends with Tenzin offering to take the first watch while Bumi and Kya get some rest. According to Bumi, Tenzin should wake them up if Korra and Jinora’s bodies begin to fly off in a Spirit-like fashion.

Oh Bumi.

    Thanks for posting!

lol I love Bumi. I am excited for this episode – to finally see Korra in the spirit world. I wonder if they’ll end up having to defend Korra’s and Jinora’s body? And if so by whom.

      Azula.

whaat????????? where did you you take this from?

        • http://avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com/ Keval

          It’s a joke.

But I think I know what will happen. I’ll post it either tonight or tomorrow because I have a HUGE Geography essay that I decided to do last minute.

            hahaha okay!

Also any ideas on what’s going on in the scene where Tenzin/Bumi/Kya are being pushed off a cliff from the trailer. I’ve read others comment elsewhere that it could be a spirit (sorry to ask if this has already been discussed and I just missed it).

      • Josh

I believe it is a spirit that pushes them off the cliff, but i don’t think that it happens while they are at the eastern air temple. In that scene you can see that they are wearing the jackets that they had on in the southern water tribe; so that implies that it is cold. It is possible that they are at the Northern air temple, since it is close to the Northern water tribe, and that’s where Korra needs to go to close the spirit portal. While they are at the Northern air temple they could somehow be transported to the spirit world, or go into it themselves to save Jinora, or something along those lines. (In the pictures I have provided you can see them wearing their winter coats. One thing to take note of is the color of the sky; it could just be sunset ,or it means they are in the spirit world. In the picture where Kya, Bumi, and Tenzin are all huddle together I believe they are definitely in the spirit world. In the background you can see these orange bubbles, and the setting just has this spirit world feel, and glow to it. If they are not in the spirit world, it is possible that they are actually in one of the spirit forest that surround the spirit portals.

          Very cool. Thank you!

I’ve missed the part where they are huddled together. Do you have a link to that?

          • Guest.

and the one of Kya and Tenzin?

  • Petecaca

DAMN We can see that’s studio Mir over here with facial’s expression of character XD

    • Petecaca

the animation returns in the normal and it’s so beautiful to watch…simple, fresh and unique like the season 1

  • Josh

Although the difference in animation doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb; you can still notice that now the clothing is more detailed and the colors are more crisp. Also the animation on each characters face is consistent, and doesn’t change every five seconds. That being said, the moment of truth will come when we see Korra, because her character design hasn’t been that great this season; the same goes for Asami! Another thing that you can notice is the characters eyes look different; now when characters are interacting with one another it actually looks like there looking at each other; instead of it looking like there staring into space. Things look far more realistic now that Mir is animating again. Well animation wise, things are starting to look up! I’M SO GLAD MIR IS BACK!!!

    • Guest.

Agreed. Mako looked way different last episode vs. previous episodes.

It’ll stick out like a sore thumb once the show is televised this Friday. The biggest upgrade will be facial features which Studio Pierrot totally failed at. I thought I was watching Minecraft during that shot of Korra’s face as she was riding Naga.

      • Josh

That scene made me wan’t to stop watching that episode lol.

      • crystalline

Yea that’s true. The faces were pretty pitiful.

    • Nico

I thought the animation was gorgeous. Definitely saw a difference in just a matter of seconds.

  • Sibis

What happens after this clip is that Tenzin gets angry when Bumi and Kya sleep over where Korra and Jinora are at. Kya snuggles up with Jinora. Bumi lays his head in Korra’s lap.

  • Kailee

Poor Bumi! :( And the animation doesn’t look any different to me.

    • crystalline

      IKR!

    • Name

In the last episodes only their mouths moved when they talked. In this clip they actually have facial expressions and body movement instead of them staying still.

      • Kailee

Hm…. didn’t even notice that. I actually didn’t have any problems with Pierrot’s animation. But that’s just my opinion.

        • name

          I understand. :)

        • Muggle

I didn’t notice that either, but I did notice that some of the motion and shading was off. I’m not even that observant when it comes to animation.

    • Kailee

Who is voting my comment down? I don’t care who it is but I just wanna know. Haha

  • Katherine M.

Thank god Pierrot is gone. Now the animation looks less repulsive.

  • KorroKorra

    Oh you gotta love Bumi.

    • Name

Who needs Bolin when there’s Bumi?

  • Sibis

It’s still weird Bumi and Kya don’t have families of their own.

    • Muggle

It kind of is– but when I think of how similar they are to Aang, it kinda makes sense. I think they take more after him than Tenzin does. It makes sense how they’d have nomadic lifestyles that would make having a family difficult. I don’t think Aang would have either if his people hadn’t been slaughtered and he’d been allowed to carry on his nomadic monk. Now it also makes sense why he wasn’t that great a dad.

  • wut

“I would’ve said a cute intellect and catlike reflexes, but whatever.”

  • LOKlover

Maybe the subset of airbending is creating a portal to the spirit world. And Tenzin is the one to figure it out and that’s how he will “face his own demons” by entering the spirit world.

  • gabara

and once again im more interested in the sub plot and sub character’s then the main plot and main character

    good job writers good job
