Our first major pit stop of the offseason is just a day away. Tomorrow late afternoon/evening, Nickelodeon will host an Upfront for the 2014 year. At the Upfront will be potential advertisers for Nickelodeon – not fans of the network as many have suggested. There’s no way to get a pass for the Nickelodeon Upfront because – frankly – it’s not something most people even know about. It’s strictly meant for advertisers, but it just so happens that the event draws major interest from individual fandoms. In this case, I know most hard-core Legend of Korra fans will be on pins and needles as they await news to come from the Upfront.
Just to clarify some rumors, there will not be a LIVE Stream of the Nickelodeon Upfront tomorrow. This is supposed to be a business event, not a program designed to garner viewer interest. Next – I do not have someone who will LIVE tweet me information from the Upfront. I don’t even know anyone who will be attending the Upfront, unfortunately. So how will we get news from the Nickelodeon Upfront?
Well – from Nickelodeon, of course! Just like last year, we’ll be relying on our favorite network to relay all Upfront news. And it’s not as inconvenient as it may sound.
At the end of the Upfront, Nickelodeon will release a Press Release breaking down their plans for the year. On the Press Release will be release dates (if they’re announced) for all upcoming television series’ they plan on debuting in the future. Any clips or trailers shown at the Upfront are generally posted on the official Nickelodeon website in the timely manner.
Fortunately for us, we won’t have to wait for a Press Release to determine whether or not Book 3 was given a release date. Last year, the official Nickelodeon Twitter account was tweeting out most information that came from the Upfront.
Earlier today, I went on a bit of a Twitter spree, mentioning @NickelodeonTV several times. On one instance, I explained how @NickelodeonTV won’t be mentioning the Upfront much because it’s not an even meant for the fans. On the contrary, the Kid’s Choice Awards (KCA) is meant for the fans, so Nickelodeon will market it like crazy.
Usually I’d say keep expectations low, but I can’t say that this year because I expect a full trailer and release date for book 3.

Edit: So, I embedded the wrong tweet. I’ll fix it when I get to my computer. Can’t do it on mobile. Sorry!
Nickelodeon replied to the Tweet, agreeing with what I had to say, but mentioning that they would still tweet about any notable releases.
@LegendofKorraWp Tis true, but we will be definitely talking about any releases coming outta it

Thus, I think it’s safe to say that the official Nickelodeon twitter account will keep us up to date for much of tomorrow’s event. Besides, it’s not like there’s much to keep up with. We’re either going to get a release date and/or trailer, or nothing. This isn’t on the level of Comic-Con by any means; Nickelodeon won’t be doing any major plot reveals for Book 3 because advertisers don’t care about that.
So in short – Nickelodeon will have us covered tomorrow with any news that may come from the Upfront. Again, the Nickelodeon Upfront 2014 takes place tomorrow late-afternoon/evening in New York. Expectations for The Legend of Korra Book 3 are currently a release date and trailer.
I won’t be disappointed if we only get one of the two, but I will be if we get nada. Hopefully Nickelodeon pulls through tomorrow.
What are your expectations for tomorrow’s Upfront?
