Watch ‘Legend of Korra’ Season 3, Episode 11 ‘The Ultimatum”

After yet another week of waiting, Nickelodeon has posted “The Ultimatum” on their official website. Zaheer for the People never leaked the episode yesterday, so Nickelodeon should get a better feel for The Legend of Korra’s online viewership this week. The official episode description for “The Ultimatum” is as followed: “As Ba Sing Se continues to erupt into chaos, Mako and Bolin struggle to leave the city to deliver Zaheer’s message to Korra.”

Like last week, I won’t be embedding the episode into this post because Nickelodeon appears to have removed that functionality from their player. Regardless, you can still seamlessly watch the episode without any major buffering issues. If you have issues with the advertisements cutting off the stream, I suggest temporarily turning off your Ad Block.

“The Ultimatum” is currently available on a number of official mediums. Below, I will link you to all possible outlets of legally watching the episode.

Nick.com – “The Ultimatum” (Free)

Amazon.com – “The Ultimatum” ($2.99 HD)

Google Play – “The Ultimatum” ($1.99)

International viewers, read this guide on how to get around Nickelodeon’s region block if you haven’t already. It will allow you to watch the episode on Nickelodeon’s website.

Feel free to discuss the episode below. This is not a spoiler-free discussion, so watch out if you haven’t seen the episode.

  • Eyesr

The episode WAS leaked..few hours before the official release.

    • Azulaalwayslies

Well that’s because Amazon puts it online at midnight for purchase.

      • Eyesr

Well if Nick.com is not getting accurate results anyway, why don’t they just show the rest of the season?…I didn’t watch it on amazon, some dude posted a link 3-4 hrs ago where I watched it for free.

        • Azulaalwayslies

Yeah that guy had the episode because he purchased it off amazon.

    – Is Tenzin really dead? He did say, “As ling as I’m breathing, it’s not over.” And then the Red Lotus continued to beat the sh*t out of him even though he was already pretty banged up, which could result in his fatality. Kai will probably manage to evacuate the airbenders out tho.

Also, “Wait, you spoke with my uncle?”
“Yes, in the Spirit World. A couple of times, actually.”
    Zuko dumbfounded.

I wonder, now that the spirit portals are open, maybe Iroh will be able to visit Zuko?

Also, since the quote released by Zaheer for the People wasn’t in this episode, it’s likely he’ll leak the finale.

  • Nico

Great episode. Heres hoping they release the Finale tonight! I need it!!!

  • jonas

I actually never saw Opal at the northern air temple, or did I just miss her?

    • Azulaalwayslies

She was grabbed by Ming Hua early on in the attack.

      • jonas

That was Opal? good to know!
        any thoughts on Tenzin?
        seriously hurt or dead?

        • Azulaalwayslies

Oh god I hope he’s not dead, but there’s always the possibility.

I think it’ll be quite telling about Zaheer’s character depending on how he treats Tenzin now that he’s defeated.

    • Eyers

Ming Hua took her as a hostage and stopped few airbenders when they tried to evacuate.

  • http://avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com/ Keval

Tenzin will look like he’s been hit by a bus in next week’s finale, but I highly doubt they’ll kill him off.

    • AvatarYuhan

yeah! he’s the narrator of the whole season just like Katara in ATLA. Why would they kill him? Im betting on Tonraq or maybe the twins to die at the Finale.

      • Joe

        possibly Zuko O_o

      • Mako

If Zuko died I would die too so that better not happen. That would be INTENSE if Tonraq died. The twins probably won’t die, and I was thinking possibly Zuko’s daughter based on Zuko and Korra’s conversation.

    • evans

I disagree. I predict Tenzin will be dying by the time Team Avatar reaches him. He’ll say a few inspirational words, and die. The voice actors did say the finaly was pretty cray cray (or was it ridiculous?). And what’s more cray cray or ridiculous than a major character death?

      • Mako

I was thinking that Tenzin would be dying and Kya would do some healing stuff and he’d be better, but not in excellent shape.

    • MG

I don’t really understand the censorship in this episode when they block off Tenzin being beaten to a pulp at the end with a wall, when they just showed the Queen being suffocated with bloodshot eyes in the previous episode.

      • Joe

most likely to keep it ambiguous. Is he dead or just beaten up?

        • Mako

          I got some screenshots :P :)

…..aaaand Bolin ruins the moment once again.

        • Ariana Moreno

yeah, Bolin seems like he isn’t going to change….he can never take anything seriously. maybe that part of him is stuck forever :/

          • Joe

            He’s similar to sokka in a way…

          • Ariana Moreno

yeah, but at least sokka was serious when it was necessary

      • http://avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com/ Keval

I have! But I’m at the airport returning from Canada, so I’ll post it later tonight when I get home.

  • Eyesr

I feel really-really bad for Kya…I thought Katara’s daughter would show a better performance in duel against another waterbender :(

    • http://avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com/ Keval

Eh, I’ll give her a pass on this one. I don’t think anyone stands a chance against Ming-Hua when she transforms into Dr. Octopus.

      • Eyesr

I don’t know, I think Katara would take her down. I know I am talking about characters from different timelines but still…Katara always had the upper hand when fighting a waterbender.(except Pakku who fought a novice) So for some reason I expected Kya to be like her..since her moves were similar…

        • Marty

I feel exactly the same way. But she lost cause she had to, I mean, this is going to come up a little bit stupid because we all know this, but truth is she is not real. This is a cartoon, and they had to make her lose. When Kya fought Zaheer she was so much better. Now they had to make her lose to Ming Hua, I battle which sadly I had been looking for so badly.

          • Joe

meh I agree losing to Zaheer but she could’ve beaten Ming Hua just Ghazan then beat the tar out of her or P’Li. They could’ve even won and pushed back the Red Lotus but then that would be even worse episode. They all lived happily ever after esque.

        • porpoise

Kya is more into the healing aspect of waterbending, not fighting.

    • Caesar

What are you talking about? Kya put on a great fight. She was simply overpowered.

      • Eyesr

She was defending herself more than attacking…I would want her to show a better performance against a bender of the same element (like Tenzin VS Zaheer) ..You know if a character has to loose a fight – the fight doesn’t necessarily has to be fair..But Kya lost in a fair fight and I am just sad about it.
I am happy how Tenzin fought Zaheer for example. Tenzin was winning the fair fight – but then the circumstances changed and he lost. They could do the same with Kya.

        • Marquise Ford

I disagree because remember what Zuko said about the red lotus? “Individually they can take down ANY bender…” especially if they are all together! As you had seen when they defeated Tenzin

          • Eyer

Zaheer was actually losing to Tenzin. INDIVIDUALLY – Zaheer wasn’t taking him down. So…Zuko could have been simply over dramatic.

          • Marquise Ford

Yeah thats true. But Zuko wasn’t over dramatic when he said that TOGETHER they could take down the entire world. Tenzin may have gotten the upper hand INDIVIDUALLY but there was no way he could take em all. This group is far too powerful

          • Eyer

If Zuko’s first sentence was false, then there is a probability that the second sentence was false as well. (think about Amon’s father :D) As I said – I don’t like when good guys lose a fair fight – it just makes me sad :( soo..I’m hoping for round two between Kya and Ming Hua.. which is unlikely to happen..

          • Marquise Ford

Yea but I mean, it wasn’t completely false because ming-hua outmatched kya in a one on one fight. And yea Im hoping for a rematch as well. Im just glad we finally got to see tenzin vs zaheer

          • Joe

Yeah i definitely wanted that and I think it was highly anticipated Zaheer Vs. Tenzin. The new vs the old airbender.

          • Marquise Ford

Yeah man! It was only right to have that battle!

          • Mario.1

ming-hua belongs to a secret society trained to kill , anyone of the red lotus takes bending to the next level because its their way of life. Aangs kids do very well in the fight¡¡!¡#

          • Marquise Ford

Yeah they definately hold their own against the red lotus.

        • Joe

Tenzin could take down Zaheer because Zaheer never had bending originally and as shown in ATLA, non-benders struggle to dodge air the most anyways like Tai Li and Amon in the last episode. Also Zaheer had recently acquired airbending, Tenzin has been bending all his life. If you put this with Kya yes she isnt new to bending . But water is Ming Hua’s whole life. Looking at how she moves and cartwheels she is completely dependent on water and therefore has grown to be able to use it more effectively

          • Eyesr

The situation with TyLee is different. Aang hit her when her body was already in the air (She already jumped down – there is no way move in other direction so Aang caught her) And even then – she used that Air blast that hit her as a support to jump backwards (she didn’t fell). As for Amon – he is not a non-bender – He is waterbender. Azula managed to dodge Aang’s air attacks(The Drill, The day of black sun). It’s just the matter of skill. Bumi and Zaheer became benders approximately in the same period – but their skills are on different levels – again – it’s all about skill. I wanted Kya to win this one because I saw Katara in her. She moves like Katara did. But Katara was more “aggressive” in a fight – She always attacked back. As for Kya – she was mostly dodging water and defending herself. So to put it right – I think Katara would win against Ming Hua – no matter how much she depends of water – Katara fights with a lot of passion. I guess I just expected too much from Kya, it was just painful for me to watch how Aang’s kids are falling one by one.

          • Joe

Yes admittedly TyLee (thanks for spelling correction!!) Was in the air. But with Amon it wasn’t different. Regardless whether Amon was a bender or not he had to overpower and dodge as a non-bender. He was the same as TyLee up until the last few minutes and the element he struggled most with was air. But I think Karat would he out of her league I’m sorry. Ming Hua is just untouchable. Kya could only act defensively because Ming Hua is so dominant. Ming Hua bring dependent on her water makes all the difference. Think about Toph… No earthbender could touch her (although I think ghazan would have a fair chance) because she had learnt to live through earthbending, the same goes for Ming Hua in my book.

          • Eyesr

Amon is just a bad dodger…Azula without bending proved that airbending attacks can be dodged. During the day of the black sun Aang himself admitted that she was too quick (and he was ideed using airbending). It’s really hard to argue over a battle between characters from different timelines since we’re only making assumptions. I still think that Katara would win because she showed a greater skill against other waterbenders. We see Ming Hua using her water arms only when she needs them. Toph was earthbending all the time – She always needed her “eyes” even when she wasn’t moving – she still needed to know what is happening around her.(even when she was asleep – she still felt vibrations within the earth) So – no. They are not similar to me.

          • Joe

Amon was a bad dodger?! Lies!! He dodged lightning like a boss! Water still makes up as part of her body. Arms are very important you know! You can see it in the way she bends. They manifest like hands in mako fight. They turn into like swingy swords and a lance in this episode and she’s so damn quick and all in your face. Katara a was pretty aggressive granted but she would be hard pressed imo. Looking at Kya fight zaheer it showed how strong as a waterender she is and she used big amounts of water to try and crush zaheer similar to kataras method of picking up large amounts of water and hurling at the enemy! Obviously with a bit more skill than that… but even kayaker struggled with azula and I think Ming Hua is more in your face. But I agree it’s very hard to compare from time lines. Bending is a whole lot different in korra!

          • Eyesr

Azula is a better dodger then. Arms are important, but the point is that Toph was constantly bending, and Ming Hua isn’t. With Katara – new type of waterbending was never a problem for her. I agree Ming Hua is not an ordinary waterbender… but so wasn’t Hama. And Katara still did well. + Katara herself used water arms several times. so it’s not something new for her. Ming Hua is going down anyway. I just hope that she’s not gonna lose by accident like Amon, but in fair fight. There;s got to be someone stronger :)

          • Joe

Lol true. But hama was just a resourceful blood bender. She was a very good waterender but Katara and probs paku were better than her. She just could utilise water where it existed like swamp guy. A d yes Katara had water arms but Ming Hua had 6!! I don’t think Ming Hua will lose to anyone except korra or tenzin tbh

          • Eyesr

Her arms actually make her pretty vulnerable (water conducts electricity) So if Asami uses her glove and resourcefulness – then she might have a chance..but that would be unfair.

          • Joe

Lol wouldn’t that be a disappointment… asami never fights and suddenly zaps someone everyone can’t beat (atm)

          • Eyesr

Well…They just make her win really..Even Mako could electrocute her…but he didn’t. It’s their way of showing how badass villains – they just keep winning.

          • Joe

Well to be fair mako was getting his ass whooped he didn’t have time to get lightning ready

          • Eyesr

eemm…Mako doesn’t do the circle thing that Azula did…he just stikes lighting instead of fire…even when Amon took control over his body – he still managed to strike lighting. So he didn’t do it – because Ming Hua had to win the fight.

          • Joe

True day. But you could see him prepare it for amon… but u wonder why that is. I wonder if it’smore powerful or something done the azula way

          • Eyesr

He wasn’t preparing anything..he could barely move his hand. With Ming Hua he had a lot of freedom in movement. He just didin’t use it because Ming Hua had to win the fight. I believe Azula’s Lightning is more powerful…Azula did everything “perfect”..I mean even Iroh did the circle thing..

          • Joe

Well still probably harder for him to think ooh let’s use lightning while you’re getting chased. She’d probably flip out of it anyways. And mako had no choice to use lightning in amons case cause fire with 2 fingers is like lighting a match xD

          • Eyesr

He was running from her because he wanted her to focus on him (He was saving Korra) Even in Zaofu he actually had a perfect chance to take her down..she wasn’t jumping anywhere because there was no space..she was defending herself with her arms from fire and rocks that bolin and mako were throwing. They never really use lightning because it normally kills people…show for kids and everything. But there was a possibility.

          • Joe

Yes to some degree but hearing his grunts really makes you think that he thinks oh shut I can’t beat her she’s too good. It’s really just like he’s pushing everything he can out of his bending and getting nothing in return from it. His goal was to distract from korra but he could do that by being dominant and beating her yet he couldn’t. ..

          • Eyesr

He coudn’t because Ming hua is a villain that has to win. Like Azula, Amon, Unalaq. Villains who lose the last fight. If she lost to Mako and Kya – then the viewer wouldn’t take her seriously. If battle with Kya – was the final battle in the series – then Ming Hua would lose. Just because good guys always win the last battle. It’s pretty obvious.

          • Joe

Well I personally think Mako or Asami shouldnt be able to beat any of the 4. They are bending elite and whilst team avatar are good they are still young and shouldnt be as good, obviously besides korra… And thinking about Kya again. It’s possible she never mastered using water where this isnt much. In the poles she’s surrounded by water so when she fought Ming Hua with very little access to water she wasnt able to utilise as well. Katara herself said she had this problem before meeting Hama. But whereas Ming Hua only needs her arms to excel… I dont know if thats true, just a thought… Maybe if Kya and Ming Hua rematch near more water ie: lake or river. It would be more of a close match?

          • Eyesr

After seeing battle between Kya and Ming Hua – I can surely say that Kya is not as good as Katara was. (it’s not about the quantity of water…It was about how she fought her) I think Kya lacks experience – she doesn’t seem to be fighter..whereas Katara told Pakku “I don’t want to heal, I want to fight!” And the thing is with Katara that she actually does want to fight, this is why she is more aggressive during the battle. I couldn’t see it in Kya. I think you’re giving Ming Hua too much credit. Her arms can be bended away by a bender with a stronger grip over water (someone like Pakku or Amon)

          • Joe

True katara was much more fight orientated but then tenzin wasn’t! Look at him lol. And even then I think pakku would get destroyed by Ming Hua and katara yeah could maybe win but u think it would be a titanic battle. Pakku was good and all but he’d probably struggle keeping up

          • Eyesr

The thing about Airbenders (original) is that – none of them are true fighters. I bet that’s why Zaheer was losing the fight – because he is a fighter (which is not relevant for an Airbenders). And Pakku was the master of Waterbending..Ming Hua is just a criminal who was put in prison once..and will be again (if not killed. Last time it took only Korra’s father, Sokka, Zuko and Tenzin to catch them (Tenzin said it ep4 of this season)

          • Joe

Well Zuko was 13 years younger he could probably take Ghazan that time! Tenzin is just the exception cause he’s a Don. Sokka and Zaheer would be an interesting fight… Tonraq doesn’t seem like a great waterbender to me as well. Unalaq destroyed him and he wasn’t that threatening against Zaheer. But Katara towards the end of book 3 I bet could’ve taken Pakku. And come on, I may be overstating Ming Huas ability (although I’m not sure about it) you are understating. She is not simply a criminal… As zaheer said they are elemental masters they a re the iroh and Bumi of the white lotus equivalent which were at least top 5 benders of that element… Ming Hua is better than all water benders except probably Korra, Kya and tonraq is to be seen… I’m leaving katara out cause she’s old in korra lol

          • Eyesr

Pakku was a Bending master just like Iroh and Bumi. This is why he is in the episode “The Old Masters”. If there were a greater Waterbender – he’d be among them – but there wasn’t. These is no way he’d lose to Ming Hua – he’s too good. Ming Hua is not better than all waterbenders. She fought just one so far (Kya). Too little evidence.

          • Joe

Well Toph imo was better than Bumi but she wasn’t in the white lotus. And I think katara was better than Pakku. And there is proof. So far no bender except Tenzin has shown the ability to stand up against her. Plus also I know this goes against me as well… that the fighting is very different. In korra is much quicker in ATLA it was big and powerful but also slower bending. I suppose the biggest question would be could they keep up with Ming Hua cause undoubtedly she is all over the place when fighting people… I wonder how amon and Unalaq compared to people like Ming Hua pakku and katara… ooh and Zuko said individually they can take down any bender (tenzin slightly disproved that but its true besides him so far…)

          • Eyesr

Bumi and Toph both claimed themselves “The best earthbenders”…Toph invented Metalbending due to her blindness. Bumi on the other hand can bend with “his face”…which sort of reminded me of psychic bending abilities. Animation from ATLA is different because I believe they used other animators. Korra’s animation has higher quality and they use 3D within the series. This is why there is a difference in fight scenes and in speed. Ming Hua is not as fast as you claim – Kya did managed to wash her away. This only proves that she cannon dodge everything – if only Kya was more aggressive – like Katara (more attacking) – Ming Hua would lose.

          • Joe

Let’s be frank Toph was better… She was like what 11 years old and beating people who’ve been masters all their life and she invented metal bending at that age. But the speed of fight is different not just the animation thingy but stuff like pro bending changed it completely. It went from big moves ie kataras water smash thing to quick fast attacks. Sometimes it changed especially in book 2 last episodes… And Kya is aggressive we saw that against Zaheer, she was probably too aggressive there. But Ming Hua is far more aggressive, she looks as aggressive as katara but in a slightlying different way. But during the fight when Kya knocked her off and Ming Hua returned with 6 arms Kya said no, aka shit what am I gonna do. Not about aggressiveness when imo your just outclassed

          • Eyesr

Toph is not an ordinary earthbender. I think she is older than 11..she was 12-13 in the series. She developed the skill because of her blindness. She doesn;t even know how normal earthbenders move. (They used 5 types of martial arts for original series. one for each nation and the fifth one sepcifically for Toph – she moved differently) So yea..at 12 she already had 8-9 years if training (she was simply bending all the time because she wanted to see thing) Most benders just starts training at 10-11…But it was her blindless that pushed her. In Kya VS Zaheer – Zaheer wasn’t attacking at all. So yeah – she had to attack. In duel – you have to do both to attack and defend yourself (What Katara does). Once Kya faced an opponent that is attacking – she started simply defending herself. So this is why my original comment says that I expected Kya to be better trained against waterbenders – since her mother was.

          • Joe

Well it was a particularly good waterbender to be defending against. Maybe it was just the style, Kya may have never fought someone like Ming Hua? I have to say they though the worst person to fight if you had the same element would be Ghazan…

          • Eyesr

Yeah – knowing the enemy is always useful. But I think that Kya simply had to push harder. She washed her away and then simply stopped attacking. “cmon girl! get more water and keep pushing her in the damn chasm!” xDD Notice that Ming Hua pushed Kya back into the building because outside of it – there isn’t enough space for her to jump like Spider man -there wasn’t anything like pillars or balconies to attach her water arms.

          • Joe

She probably thought she pushed her off completely. If not she’s a bit stupid xD and once she had 6 arms Kya had water to bend so literally had to dodge 6 arms… easier said than done that’s for sure. It’s noticeable at the end Kya has water and Ming Hua only has 5 arms…

          • Eyesr

Firstly – approaching that bridge without water was a mistake. Dodging was just one way of defense. She could try “The Katara Move ^_^” Remeber when Katara stopped Hama’s large water blast with “High five move” xD Again – aggressive – even when defending herself. I think the more arms Ming Hua has – less control she has over each one of them – So Kya should have use it as an advantage. But she simply kept taking hits from her. I don’t know..maybe she’s too old for that now. She seems to be in her 40’s. But again – best benders used to be the oldest (most experienced) – so I guess she’s simply not a fighter, which was unexpected for me.

          • Joe

Yeah she should’ve kept water!! And I think katara could only do that move because she was a stronger bender. I think it comes down to how strong is Ming Huas grip on water. Because it’s very hard to tell as Kya is the only water being opponent she’s had where she challenged her arms. Ming Hua was just dodging the twins at poles. It will be interesting to see how korra fares against Ming Hua when water bending. I’m not so sure korra will have a stronger water bending grip but then she is the avatar so who knows…

          • Eyesr

Avatar is supposed to be the best bender in all elements. (Roku’s training). If Korra isn’t – then – she’s not trained enough. But Avatar State beats everything anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.

          • Joe

Yeah although it always seemed that the elemental masters were better slightly than the avatar but obviously they’re still a master in 4 elements so they’d still win. Because Toph seemed better at earth and katara at water. But yeah avatar state wins!! Unalaq also seemed like a better waterbender than korra but as elemental masters that is expected as they only have 1 element to master and therefore can truly understand and discover it’s depths. Ie: why the avatar has never learnt a sub bending ability first.

          • Eyesr

Avatar has to understand the depths of each element – otherwise – he won’t be a true avatar. By the end of each training – Avatar has to be the best at everything. Raava is boosting his abilities not only within the avatar state. Aang had to learn 3 new techniques in 1 summer. Katara had to focus just on one and Toph had most her life as experience and years of training. We have an episode when Aang was training with Katara and he managed to win “their fake fight” and in book three hes already training against both Katara and Toph at the same time. So I don’t think Toph or Katara were better benders. Metal bending and Blood bending was a result of someone’s resourcefulness. In Korra book 1 – they showed us that Metal can be cured to the point where it doesn’t have earth particles anymore aka becoming unbendable. I don’t think Aang ever tried to learn Metal Bending.

          • Joe

Lol this is some mega ass discussion xD Keval should take notes and post it lol!!

          • ALance

Why would that be unfair? The shocking glove is just a weapon like any other.

          • Eyesr

Well..it’s going to look like a trick =) I even have a feeling that this is how Ming Hua is going to lose (To Asami). I would be more pleased if Kya takes another round with her and wins :) but this is unlikely.

    • Ariana Moreno

you might as well have said that about Tenzin and Bumi as well…they were all struggling. I mean come on these villains are badass. they aren’t that easy to take down. i thought Kya was amazing. at least she’s actually getting fight scenes, it’s better than her being on the sidelines like Asami in book 2

      • Eyesr

I actually said that Tenzin did much better than Kya (if you read my sub-comments) He was winning his fight until the others came to help Zaheer. And Bumi…given that all his scene are put in for comedy – I knew he’d lose.

    • Joe

I’m gonna disagree with you on this one. Kya has impressed me as a water bender but you can only do so well. Ming Hua is fcking crazy good and also you have to consider that waterbending for Ming Hua is a way of interacting like Toph. The water is her arms no one will know how better to fight with water than her. Which quite clearly you can tell. And besides Katara would’ve taught Kya all she knew until she was maybe even better than her.

  • Osama

This episode gave me chills, probably one of the greatest episode of the Avatar series so far if not the greatest.

  • Neill Verhoeven

    Breathtaking episode.

  • chubbs40

by far one of the best if not the best fighting sequence i’ve seen

  • Eire

    Tenzin was kicking Zaheer’s butt.

    • jessica

He really was! It took 3 of them to take him down! >.> The cheaters.

  • Rod

Honestly, I was shaking the entire time watching this episode. It had everything in it that I feel has, sometimes, been missing from Korra where it would have made a huge difference — absolute suspense and heartache. For example, up until Unalaaq taking out Raava and beating the past lives from Korra, Unalaq never really seemed like a huge threat like Amon. He was too predictable, and didn’t really leave you on your toes. Amon actually had me worried about the safety of the main characters. Of course this is my opinion haha.

But this season. This season has been given the suspense and drama that was often characteristic of ATLA, (think of episodes like Seige of the North Pt. 2, Crossroads of Destiny, the entire series finale). I actually felt no certainty to the safety Tenzin, Kya, Bumi, and the airbenders. This episode has so many emotional parts, and the bending battle was absolutely one of the best of the entire Avatar series (don’t want to give too much detail away though). Zaheer has managed to rekindle the feeling of uncertainty that Amon was able to portray, and in some instances surpass them. I cannot commend the writers, instrumentalists, artists and Bryke enough for there work this season. It really shows! The series finale is set up to be one for the ages.

    • Joe Enfonde

Totally with you. I had chills for the complete second half.

    • Matt Brown

I was shaking too! Ugh. We need to see the finale already! This is killing me!!!!

    • Joe

I mean WTF!! how can you beat Ming Hua jesus christ. 2 arms were bad enough… I wonder if she’ll have 6 arms for the rest of the season now O_O The second half i agree. Tenzin was kicking ass and then my heart went in my mouth when P’Li blew him up and everyone turned on him! Although kickass moment when he said “I do have a choice”.

  • Guest

The whole finale better leak now :P

  • Aeri

a+ to the animation and fight scenes, animated beautifully

  • crystalline

Another great episode! Although, the ending was a little disappointing considering how upbeat and thrilling the episode was. It was nice to see Iroh again and now everyone is back in the mix. Things are really starting to heat up. I’m really hoping that this plot carries over into Book 4 and the Team Avatar struggles like the finale of Book 2 of ATLA. The fighting scenes were great, everyone got owned. I doubt Tenzin will die but that final scene was somewhat gruesome. Things are getting intense and we still don’t know why they need Korra, but I am almost 100% certain “Enter the Void” will answer that question but it feels like we have been waiting an eternity!

    • Caesar

YES! The happy ending with Kai left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth.
      Amazing episode, though.

      • crystalline

yeah i wish they reverted back to Korra and company or even just ended it at Tenzin getting beaten up.

        • Caesar

You have a good eye for these things. I was so happy I wasn’t the only one that thought of that.

  • Joe Enfonde

OH MY GOD THIS EPISODE WAS SO GOOD! I shamelessly, will hands down say this episode is so far my favorite out of both ATLA and Korra. The long, extended fight scene was out of this world incredible in all aspects: music, transitions, sound effects, etc. I especially loved the transition from Kya-Ming Hua to Ghazan-Bumi where they used multiple levels of the compound and seamlessly shifted fighting focus. That is just expert cinematography. This episode should totally be nominated for production awards when that time rolls around.

The emotion was so intense too. Couple moments stood out like Kai’s transition from a bonafide street rat just missing his red hat and monkey to proud and valiant warrior ready to lay down his life for people and a culture that he just met. Jinora looking back at him as he got blown out of the sky was wild. Bumi and Kya hanging for their life was deep too.

Tenzin was incredible this episode too. I loved how they finally show him in all his fighting glory. You can really see that even though he doesn’t fight, if he has to he will bring his all. It took four people to finally slow down that boulder of an airbender (I know that’s weird, but there really was no stopping him once he got going). The pan out of the Red Lotus just beating him was intense.

I do say when he said as long as he is breathing he wont stop, I
totally thought that was set-up for Zaheer to come in and be like: “we can fix that” and vacuum bend him. But that didn’t happen, and I’m glad.

The ending was perfect, too. Kai (who totally looked like Sokka when we saw that closeup of his face while upside down) just hopping on the bison and charioting off is totally how I felt after watching this episode just totally ready and itching to see what comes next.

Someone on Keval’s site had mentioned that maybe they were continuing this storyline and villain group into next book. I would LOVE that. I don’t know if there statement of having mini plots ending every book also applied here, but I hope it didn’t. I’d love more time with this
    storyline.

    • Lena27

I was hoping someone else saw that! Kai TOTALLY looked Sokka right there!

  • chase thunder

Man I loved this episode so much. In the first few minutes, it had a bit of comedy (like bolin and makos grandma and family) or them having the grandma say something about dating korra or asami ( which was awkward). Don’t get me started with Iroh coming and telling Korra to talk to Zuko for help ( oh nostalgia is something isn’t it). Man I hope Zuko gets to talk to his Uncle for old times sake next season or around this area. But, in my opinion, the fight scene was the best. I knew they would somehow make Tenzin and them lose but they made it epic. Tenzin’s first attack surprised me because he knocked back Zaheer and them and we finally was able to see Zaheer pressured in battle and get knocked down a bit. Kya and bumi also did a good job but I was sad when Kya got knocked out so easily. Man, why can’t they just post the finale already because I kinda want to know what happened to Tenzin and I can’t wait for Korra to get there.

  • Ariana Moreno

This episode was amazing. the bending/fighting scenes are always so thrilling to watch!! i think Kya, Bumi and Tenzin all did a good job and they really put up a good fight. These villains aren’t easy to beat. I think Korra is gonna show up right before the red lotus tries to kill Tenzin though and that will be exciting to see! :) great episode all together! Very emotional as well. As Aang’s kids were battling together, all that went through my mind was, wow, these are the children of Katara and Aang. They did an amazing job raising them! I loved seeing Zuko and Iroh in there as well. A reunion of the two would be so heart moving. I also want a taste of Zuko’s daughter too!!

    • Kyle Edgecomb

I think Zuko’s daughter will either turn up in the finale where we see Zuko arrive at the fire nation to protect her. Or we will see her sometime in Book 4, mainly because I think the series are once again following the cycle (Book 1 – Korra arrives to learn airbending, Book 2 involved the water tribes, Book 3 involved the earth kingdom) so conlcuding that Book 4 will somewhat involve the fire nation, I have a strong guess that it will involve a conflict where someone is trying to start the fire nation war again

      • Ariana Moreno

        makes sense :p

    • Matt Brown

Ikr. It was so cool to see all of Aang and Katara’s kids fighting together. But it was also sad because they all got whooped. And MAN hope Tenzin isn’t dead. He’s my favorite character

      • Ariana Moreno

yeah, i think Korra will come in time to save him and give herself up

        • Matt Brown

          Hopefully

    • Rache

I thought it was so funny when the grandma of bolin and mako was like “you’re very muscular for a woman” to Korra. hahahaha.

      • Ariana Moreno

hahaha i know right? XD that was hilarious because someone actually said that allowed. we were already thinking it :p

  • Katie

I started crying right around when Kai fell off the cliff and they started beating Tenzin while the camera panned. Something in me feels like they are going to kill him off just because of Zaheer’s blatant ruthlessness and the fact that he’s technically a world leader, but I can’t even fathom that happening. I actually thought Kai was dead until the end, though.

    • Caesar

      Wooss.

I wonder will Nick broadcast the finale early like season’s 2 finale.

    • Aaron

Why not… after all the rest of book 3’s airing schedule has gone to hell why not the last two episodes…

  • crystalline

It’s looking as though Su isn’t evil after all, she really has changed as far as we know.

    • Kyle Edgecomb

I never thought Su was ever evil at all, misguided as a youngster yes, but evil? No way.

      • crystalline

Some people had their suspicions, that she could secretly be part of the Red Lotus, but it’s starting to look like she’s not.

        • Ariana Moreno

i agree. Su no longer seems like a traitor. the red lotus has her daughter so they also have leverage against her as well. unless this is all part of the master plan to make her look like she is innocent to throw off team avatar, but i seriously doubt it. i’m going to say that i believe Su is innocent.

  • Mako

    SPOILERS:
    Did Tenzin just… die?
Ya know, it was really unclear.

Anyway, I cried during this episode. I thought at one point that Kya, Bumi, Kai, and Tenzin were all dead, but just to be clear… DID Tenzin die? And Jinora’s reaction to Kai being blown up… <3.
I was relieved to see that Yin had Mako's scarf, because in episode 10, she didn't.

    • Kyle Edgecomb

I dont think Tenzin died…but I wouldnt be surprised if they decided to kill him off this season, as devestating as it would be, it would be an interesting development for all the characters in Book 4

      • Mako

I’m trying to convince myself that he isn’t dead but they blocked the screen…

  • crystalline

What’s the name of the final episode? Also, are there any descriptions yet?

    • Matt Brown

      Episode 12- Enter the Void
Episode 13- Venom of the Red Lotus

      • crystalline

        thanks :)

        • Matt Brown

          No prob

  • Kyle Edgecomb

This episode was brilliant! The humour, the action, and the threat is getting more and more dangerous. Oh god I think Tenzin is gonna end up dying this season…oh dear…that wont be so good for Korra at all, cause technically they are spiritually related.

  • Ifreke Umana

You guys want to know what’s really scary? In all of the footage from the official book 3 trailer, none of it is from the finale.

    • Rache

Guess that means something big is coming and they didn’t want us seeing even a glimpse of it

    • Aaron

Not necessarily. At SDCC a couple weeks ago they released that trailer for the second half of the season or was it just the animation clips I can’t remember, but anyway it showed Lin fighting in a scene we haven’t seen yet.

      • Ifreke Umana

Well, true. But I’m talking specifically about the first official trailer.

  • Matt Brown

Ok. This episode gets like, a 10 out of 10!!!! I really really hope that Tenzin isn’t dead! He is my favorite character. And the way he was kicking Zaheer’s butt until Ming Hua and Ghazan showed up… bastards…. But holy cow! And this plot has to carry on into Book 4! There is absolutely no way that this is going to be resolved in 2 episodes. Especially when Episode 13’s title is “Venom of the Red Lotus”. That just doesn’t seem like a happy ending! Venom is poison so by breaking down the title of this episode, you can just imagine what it is that they’re poisoning. Is it the world as whole? Is it Korra? Those are the two most logical answers so far. The episode is by far one of the best if not the best episode of Avatar as a whole. I knew something big was gonna happen with Tenzin and the other airbenders since theyhe had been absent for 3 episodes. And I thought Kai was a goner when P’Li combustionbended at him. And MAN! I feel like Kai’s character has been developed extremely well since we were introduced to him. He was so brave.

    • Legama

      No dude, 11/10 :P

Agreed, im now 100% sure chaos is getting onto the Fire Nation and Water Tribes, and Korra will end there fighting to protect Zuko’s daughter, her father and her cousins.

      • Nairu

Yeah I hope she will go to Zuko’s daughter in the fire nation. The only future setting country we haven’t seen yet is the fire nation. And since the fire nation is the most advanced one I wonder how it will look like compared to Zoafu. Can’t wait… ;d Since all the capitols have grown and chanced I’m sure the fire nation did too. Maybe it’s even more advanced than Republic City, with trams, metro, and high buildings. ;d And gass everywhere.

      • Matt Brown

        20/10

  • TimeRider

My heart was racing when Tenzin said “As long as I’m still breathing…” I was sure Zaheer was going to suffocate him like the Earth Queen. It also gave me goosbumps. This season gets better with every episode and can’t wait for the finale!

  • Reid

I could see in the finale, even though they said it wouldn;t be as spiritul as book 2, something happening where tenzin is about to be killed by zaheer ight in front of korra, and somehow aang reconnects with korra through the avatar state because he wouldnt want his son to die.

  • Legama

    My hands are shaking….

  • crystalline

I love how with each new episode everyone always says its the best of the season. This season just keeps getting progressively better. All episodes are the best!

  • Ricardo

So in next episode someone will be entering the void and talking to the Guru

  • ALance

I think it would be in Nick’s own interest to release the final two episodes early – like as soon as possible from now. It wouldn’t be wise for them to risk the episodes being leaked by that Zaheer for the People person before the official release. If they want to secure their viewing stats, they release the episodes ASAP.

    • Guest

In other words, “release it by tomorrow morning, Nick, or their will be consequences.”

  • Rache

Anyone who has seen the show breaking bad would get this..

    • Lena27

      HAHAHAAAAHHHAAA!!

    • Ariana Moreno

Tenzin reminds me of Walter White from breaking bad in here XD

      • Rache

Yeah that’s what it was referencing :)

        • Ariana Moreno

oh okay :p well that makes sense haha

          • Rache

            Its okay. haha

  • Ozymandias13

I just thought of this now. Every villain in korra has had good intentions but got sidetracked by a selfish goal. Amon wanted equality, but he was obviously an ego maniac. Unalaq was jealous of the avatar and was driven mad by prolonged exposure to Vaatu, even though he had a good point about the spirit portals. Now when you look at Zaheer, selfish isn’t what immediately pops into your head. However, I have come up with my own theory about Zaheer’s selfish goal. Zaheer has been shown to revere Guru Laghima to the point of obsession. From the very beginning it has been hinted that Guru Laghima was not a “good guy” from the quotes to the creepy music, I just never got a good vibe from him. Zaheerforthepeople’s leaked quote just proves this theory to me. I believe that in order to enter the void and give up his humanity Zaheer will murder the rest of the Red Lotus and use Korra and Raava’s energy to get in. The quote from Laghima seems to imply murder and death. Did anyone else have these thoughts? It would certainly raise the emotional stake of the finale like Bryke said.

  • Grape guy

This episode was amazing. I really hope tenzin doesn’t die. He is my favorite character. I hope they realese the finale tomrow or tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • KorraFan

I am so psyched to watch this episode!!!! :)

  • Lena27

Prediction for either next episode or the one after that: After the entire thing with the Red Lotus attacking the airbenders ends (got no idea how) we see Zuko coming home to the Fire Nation and we will meet Zuko’s daughter (and maybe Mai and Zuko’s son). This introduction will be necessary bc the Red Lotus will later target Zuko’s daughter and either she will end up dying, forcing the terrible burden of being a grieving parent on Zuko, or Zuko will be killed/injured. With benders like the Red Lotus, its very possible. He was defeated by some of the members earlier this season at the Northern water tribe so it could definitely happen again. He’s clearly an old man now and as much as I don’t want to, I could see him being overpowered/killed.
Of course Korra will somehow factor in here–maybe she will show up with others to help the Fire Lord (like she ends up, im guessing, coming to the airbenders aid next episode).

  • Aaron

There’s a clip out for next weeks episode. Just found it on youtube. Link is here—->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Hm9p0SQvSM

    • Rache

      yeah, go korra!!!!

    • Caesar

God bless Korra. She’s developing into quite the Avatar.

    • Ariana Moreno

Look at Korra go! Look at how much she’s changed for the better! I knew she would give herself up. Also, maybe our predictions about Su were wrong? She doesn’t seem as suspicious anymore. is that just me? O.o

  • PurplePlatypsBear

This has definitely been the best episode of season 3. Really. I know everyone says that every episode, but this is the first one to leave me literally screaming because it ended. Seriously, when the credits popped up I shouted and scared my family. The previous episodes have all been good, and progressively better, but none of them reached that level of “I will watch this episode five times every day until the next one comes out,” not even “Long Live the Queen.” The ending of that was certainly captivating, but most of the episode seemed to follow the same sort of lackluster pattern of 1. Team gets captured 2. Team escapes 3. Learn something new about the villains. Not that I haven’t been enjoying the season, but this episode is seriously making me consider it the best episode of Korra out of all three seasons. Maybe I’m just in shock right now and will decide otherwise in a few days but seriously, if you haven’t watched this episode yet prepare to get blown away.

  • Yung Nasib

my life will be an emotional wreck if tenzin dies lol, each episode keeps getting better and better, i dont have the words to describe how this season has been and i cant thank enough mike and bryan for giving the beautiful season the fans wanted, they far exceeded my expections

  • Ken-Ken

Am I the only one that loved Bolin’s reaction to finally meeting Zuko?! He reacted how most of us did when we found out that Zuko was to be part of this show!

    • Eyesr

If only they showed us Azula… I would definitely react like that ^^

      • Ken-Ken

That would be awesome! We would be able to see if she continued on her mental downfall. Which I’m sure she did.

  • ALance

So yeah if they don’t release the finale early, like Monday at the latest, then we know for sure they don’t care about Korra.

  • Bella

    Order of favorite seasons:
    1) Earth
    2) Change (reminds me a lot of “Earth”)
    3) 2nd half of Fire
    4) Air
    5) Water (probably about tied with Air though)
    6) 2nd half of Spirits
    7) 1st half of Fire/1st half of Spirits

  • Ariana Moreno

the fact that they change scenes in this show when someone is being hurt or attacked says a lot. it puts a huge dramatic effect in the show. i love this show. think about the world of difference: from avatar, to the point of switching scenes in the middle of someone’s demise….so thrilling!! i felt so bad for Tenzin when this happened, and i was shocked when they did the same to the Queen

  • Gino

After watching episode 11, I have to say that Ming Hua is definitely the most feared member of the red lotus. The difference between her and the other 3 members is that when she fights, she wants to kill and hurt her opponents. I mean you can see it in her eyes! I was shocked when I saw how excited she was to rupture Kya with her ice spear. Seriously Ming Hua is brutal and now I have to say she is my new favorite villain (used to be Zaheer) because of how scary she is and her willingness to hurt someone just to beat them in battle. But I do want someone to take her down in these next 2 episodes because she is down right horrifying. I thought Desna and Eska stood a chance because there is 2 of them so maybe one could have distracted her and the other take her out but I don’t even know anymore.

    • Joe

I only think korra could take her down or maybe one of the older benders ie tenzin

      • Gino

That would be awesome if Korra Vs Ming Hua happened. I already know that Lin and Zaheer will fight for a little bit. But in next weeks sneak peak we have Su, Tonraq, Mako and Bolin, Asami (hopefully with her electric glove) the Metal Clan, and the airbenders too so who knows what the finale has in store and who will fight. All I know is that it will not disappoint!

        • Joe

Yeah and if they’re bigging up the finale but not the past episode I have even higher hopes now lol!

    • Lena27

By the way, does Ming Hua even have arms? Like actual arms made out of flesh? When I first saw her, I thought she looked like she was wrapped in a straightjacket or something. she maintained the look and it basically looks like she has water for arms instead. If thats the case, then she must be the most able-bodied amputee EVER, lol

  • grape guy

    tenzin don’t die noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    from… http://zaheerforthepeople.tumblr.com

“The nature of my work has involved many journeys into the spirit world. According to tradition I have always left my physical body guarded by a close friend in the Order. This ancient tradition – spiritual journeyer paired with physical observer – is as old as the age of the Avatar. It is ostensibly to ensure my body’s physical safety. The true purpose of the practice is to guard against a much more sinister threat. While my spirit is on its journey, an ambitious spirit may seek habitation within my body.

A rogue spirit moves through unwilling flesh like venom. Ancient records show that victims of possession exhibit signs of delirium when they awaken, as the foreign spirit attempts to assert control over the body. My guardian in the physical world watches for these signs. In the event of my possession, I must be prevented from deceiving my fellows within the Order, or all we are working for might be lost. My physical body must be destroyed. It is critical, therefore, that my guardians be chosen such that they know me personally, yet would have no compunctions against ending me for the greater good. Only the most fanatical members of the Order are entrusted with such a task. A young acolyte from the north with an interest in airbender philosophy is proving to be a promising candidate.
